Getting started
How do I take part?
Register with your email address and a display name. We email you a sign-in link, so no password is needed. Then upload your photos from the event.
Who can enter?
Everyone at Shockholm Halloween Parade 2026 Photo Contest. Photos must be taken on the event day.
Will my name be shown next to my photo?
No. Entries are shown without names, so votes go to the photo, not the person. Only the judges and the organizer can see who took a photo. Your phone number, if you give one, is only used to contact a winner.
Signing in
I didn't get the sign-in email.
It usually arrives within a minute. Check your spam or promotions folder, and that the address is spelled right. You can ask for a new link on the sign-in page at any time.
The link says it has expired, or it doesn't work.
A sign-in link works once, for 15 minutes. Some email apps open links by themselves to check them, which uses the link up. Ask for a new one and open it on the phone or computer you want to use.
Do I need a password?
No. If you want to sign in faster next time, choose one with “Set password” on My page. Forgot it? Leave the password field empty and we email you a sign-in link.
Uploading
How many photos can I upload?
Up to 3 photos per person.
Which files work?
JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 25 MB and 60 megapixels each; large photos are made smaller automatically. That covers every phone camera's normal photo mode; if your phone has a 108 or 200 megapixel mode, switch back to the normal mode for contest photos. If an iPhone photo won't upload, go to Settings → Camera → Formats and choose “Most Compatible”: photos you take after that are saved as JPEG.
Why isn't my photo in the entries yet?
The judges check every photo first. We email you when it's approved, or if it isn't accepted.
Can I delete or replace a photo?
Yes, while uploads are open: on the Upload page, press Replace under the photo and pick a new one. The old photo is deleted and the new one goes to the judges. A photo that already has votes can't be replaced. To delete a photo without a new one, write to us on the contact page.
Which photos are allowed?
Your own photos from the event day. No logos, watermarks, frames or collages, and nothing offensive. The full list is in the rules.
Voting
How do I vote?
Open Vote; no account needed. Each phone or computer gets 3 votes, at most one per photo.
When can I vote?
When the organizer opens voting. The Vote page shows whether it's open and when it closes.
Can I change my votes?
Yes, until voting closes: remove a vote and give it to another photo. If you press “Finalize my votes”, they are locked for good.
What's the difference between votes and likes?
Votes decide the winner. Likes (the heart) are just a “nice shot” reaction: like as many photos as you want, they don't count toward the result.
Results & prizes
How is the winner decided?
The photo with the most votes wins. The judges have the final say, and if there is a tie, the judges decide. The organizer's decision is final.
How will I know if I won?
We email the address you registered with, and the organizer gets in touch about the prize. The results are also shown in the entries when voting has closed.
Your data
What happens to my email address and phone number?
They are only used to run the contest. Three months after the contest ends they are removed automatically. Your photo stays in the entries.
